Switch bonus

Hi,
Very late to this party, I have just set up a new Halifax account and swapped 2 DD to come out of it. Do I need to wait until these have come out of that account at least once before applying for a switch bonus? Or can I apply for the switch immediately even though the account hasn't ever been used?
Thanks

The Halifax account is the donor account so there isn’t any incentive. I will use a link to open the incentive switch, I just need to know if the donor account needs to be in use before being switched.0

Thank you, hopefully there will still be some switching offers once the DD have been taken 😁0

Is it your only Halifax account? Did you know you can open another 2 current account with Halifax with no additional hard searches? As well as 2 credit cards. So 5 accounts, 1 search. But I personally would not open all 3 current accounts in the same month.
IMHO, Halifax is the best of the big "dinosaur banks" at least in terms of functionality / features.
Don't you want to open some useless bank such as Metro and switch that account instead? Just my suggestion.EPICA - the best symphonic metal band in the world !1 -
I would keep a halifax reward account, they are good for £5 a month & no direct debits required.
Barclays gives £3 a month for 2 direct debits
Natwest & RBS gives £5 a month each for 2 direct debits
These are scraping the bottom of the barrel
Lloyds gives you 0.5% interest + movie vouchers or tickets for 2 direct debits
Coop gives £1 a month for 4 direct debits
Any other accounts you can open and use for switching, I had a couple of TSB back from when they offered 5% interest (one got converted to spend and save for £5 but getting all those debit card transactions is a lot of work) and they have now been switched.

Thank you. I have 2 reward accounts getting £5 per month each already, I read about Halifax not doing a hard search so opened the other one to start switching to get bonus money. Whilst I have a good credit history we are looking to move next year so don’t want too many hard searches on there. The 2 DD I have transferred to the donor account are not showing as pending yet so I will wait for them to be taken and go for the best bonus available.0
