Having a senior moment - need to swop my energy from one bank to another. Do I just cancel one and start another with new bank. For the life of me I can't remember what to do!! Thanks.

Another moment - should have read Direct debit!!0

You contact your energy company and tell them that you want to change the direct debit to a different bank. Give them the new bank details and it's all done for you.

They will continue to take from the original direct debit until the new one is set up and at that point they will take from the new one. There shouldn't be any overlap.1 -
If it's for a switching bonus you could open a PO savings ac and raise a DD from there. There's a few quirks so come back if you need help doing the DD.0

Sometimes you can change the details of the DD from the company's online account. I managed to change the DDs for O2 like that. I presume you can do the same for EON or BT or other utility with online accounts.1
