Amsterdam/Netherlands .restrictions

Hello again, I’m off to Amsterdam in a couple of weeks via Eurostar.
I’m double vaxxed and have bought a lateral flow for entry into and a PCR for my day 2.  I will also print off the necessary declaration forms and have paper copies of my proof of vaccine.  I’ve heard mixed stories about accessing pubs & restaurants over there, they do say you need a flow test proof within 24 hours if you want to sit indoors or use the loo.  However some people have said they accepted proof of vaccine or were not even asked upon entry.  Has anyone been lately or know what it’s like there? If I have to test then it’s no biggie just more costs! (They stopped giving free tests on Friday - doh! And I can,t use NHS. THANKS!

    This is the official advice
It is regularly updated and I think you can set up an alert to let you know of any changes.

This is what it says about going into restaurants, museums, etc
From 25 September 2021 you must show evidence of full vaccination or of a negative PCR or rapid antigen test, taken within the last 24 hours, in order to access public venues such as restaurants, museums, theatres, cinemas and sporting events. The EU Digital COVID Certificate (DCC) is accepted as evidence. The NHS COVID Pass app is not currently accepted in the Netherlands, other than for the purpose of entering the Netherlands (see ‘Entry requirements’). If you do not have an EU DCC, you should present evidence of a negative PCR or rapid antigen test taken within the last 24 hours in order to access public venues.

  • Hi madge, did you find out anymore about this? Was planning on booking to go next week but unsure if its worth it if i will need to test everyday

    Thanks

Hi I think the official rules are you need to test every day to enter public places, restaurants pubs or to use the bathrooms. Sitting/eating outside is ok. If you look on Tripadvisor there are several people saying they were not asked for any proof and/or they accepted the nhs app/certificate and let them in. So it’s mixed really.  There are also rumblings that the NHS app being accepted in Europe is imminent. We’re going to go anyway as not there for long and eat/ sit outside & use public loos if necessary. Leaving on 22 October.
