No Switch Letter

I was transferred to AVRO from EDF on September 24th - still no confirmation letter from Octopus Energy. EDF waiting for final meter readings before they can issue my final bill but I was unable to enter my readings onto the AVRO website! Have emailed Octopus today - hopefully will be getting confirmation shortly!

Under normal circumstances, a losing supplier has up to 6 weeks from actual switching date to produce a final bill; many take all of that (and some a bit longer)
You also appear to have failed to supply a final meter reading to Avro, so EDF will have to estimate it, but they will probably give it as long as possible waiting to see if one does materialise.

You switched barely a week a go.

Unfortunately, you elected to switch to a supplier that has since ceased to trade, in fact your switch completed on the day after they announced they were ceasing to trade.
I wouldn't be surprised if it takes months to sort all that out.

Why could you not give EDF your final or even current readings. Its normal to give closing readings to the last supplier .
EDF not AVRO are billing you .

EDF are the old supplier & cannot close the account until they have received the readings from the new supplier. It is normal to give your readings to your new supplier, not your old one.
  • Don't worry, people in mid-switch to Avro at the time of their collapse have not been contacted yet, I was one of them. Just email your readings to avro@octopus.energy and let them take it from there.

I started to switch from Avro to Octopus just after it was announced that they were to stop trading. I did this via email to Octopus customer services. As yet I've had no confirmation that the switch is happening etc. The only thing I have is my old Octopus account (as they were my providers before I went to Avro) which shows my electric as gone through all checks and they will be supplying my electric from the 9th. Gas shows all checks done, but they are sorting things their end and should be supplying me gas from the 10th. On this account there is nothing showing what my contract is yet the advisor confirmed in email that it's a 2 year fix. I also have a second Octopus account but was advised thats because of my Avro account. She also told me that as far as she's aware it's showing that my switch from Avro to Octopus was done just in time but has suspended my first d/d just to see what is happening with my account. I haven't set up any d/d with my switch which I did tell her. Thing is, my new account is somehow linked with my old account. I should receive and email on the 4th asking me to give my electric readings so I suppose I will have to sit tight until then to see if I do get that email.
