No but many gift cards have an expiry date .

I expect plenty have. When were yours bought and when did they expire?0

I spoke to Vue and the gift cards I have were bought in Feb 2019, just before lockdown. I was told that only gift cards bought from July 2020 had been extended and am struggling to understand why they’ve only extended some.Customer services don’t seem to be much help so don’t really know how to pursue this further.0

We where not locked down the whole of 2019 .Sars Covid first report was circa Dec 2019 .Or did you mean Feb 2020 ??What are the T&C originally for expiry and extension is goodwill not the law .0

Feb 2019 was 13 months before lockdown.0

As above, you had plenty of opportunity to use them before the pandemic, whereas those bought in the middle of the pandemic have been extended. Seems quite reasonable to me.0

Sorry I put the wrong date. It was Feb 2020. Not much time to take 4 year old twins to cinema 2 weeks before lockdown.0

If you've appealed to their better nature and they're not budging, there's nothing more you can do.When did they expire?0
-
That’s not what their website says. Maybe point that out to them? Followed by a formal complaint if you don’t get anywhere.
“We know you have been unable to use your gift cards to visit our venues, so we have extended or reinstated any Gift Cards affected due to closure.
All active Gift Cards with value on have been extended to the end of the year.
Any Gift Cards that expired during the lockdown period have been reinstated with their value at time of expiry and have been extended to the end of the year.”
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1
