Covid and moving....

Hope I'm just being paranoid but covid is rife by us right now and we are hoping to complete in about a week. What happens if someone in our house was to catch covid on completion date?

They would have to isolate somewhere I suspect.0

How could you isolate though if you had nowhere to go? Like if a child got it?0

If you are completing presumably you are moving out to elsewhere.
How do you have no where to go?0 -
We isolated from exchange to completion to try to avoid covid. However this was back in Jan when the kids were off, hubby was working from home so I just took a week's holiday.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉0

You could see if the cain will delay a couple of days, or otherwise if you can get somebody (agent?) to pick up keys for new property and let the movers in. You could isolate in your car (assuming you have one and assuming you're not actually too ill to move).0 -
I understand your fear as I felt it too when I was moving in March, but if you are taking every precaution, hopefully you will be alright. I avoided shopping/social contact for two weeks before I completed, then the removal men stomped about without masks on!£216 saved 24 October 20141

Me and my husband are both teachers and have a couple of kids so there is no option to isolate before. I meant during the day we would have no where to go while removers were there. I guess the car? But we may well be moving ourselves. I will do my best and keep covid dodging!0

Illness does not void completion, and nor would death. The process continues once you have exchanged. Were you to test positive, your buyers might want to delay occupation for up to 72 hours a a precaution, but that would be up to them.No free lunch, and no free laptop1

Agree with macman - my seller was concerned about this. I told him if anyone in the household had covid on completion, I'd appreciate it if they could let me know, leave all the windows open and then I'd go in and bleach everywhere. Completion wouldn't be delayed or affected though.0
