Left Igloo already but in credit over £600 - how do I get my funds back?

So I saw the writing on the wall a couple of weeks ago when suppliers started dropping like flies and initiated a switch from Igloo to EDF (3 year fixed). Switch was acknowledged by EDF and completed yesterday - the day Igloo ceased to trade.

My challenge now is that my Igloo account has a £670 credit on it. Final billings with Igloo would have been in the process of being agreed - EDF has my final readings - who do they send them to? presumably the SoLR when named? Will the SoLR get my credit balance? Who do I chase for my refund?

Yes the SoLR will deal with it. It might take a while, though (potentially into the New Year).

... and don't get your hopes up on any compensation for late payment, the penalties all go away under the SoLR rules understandably.

Maybe not the coming one though.  Eversmart went belly up in Sep 2019, a week after my daughter left them, and she got her refund from the SoLR in May 2021 !

  • I'm in a similar position. My switch to Sainsburys Energy happened on 24th September, when I was £150 in credit with Igloo. I was wondering exactly who will refund me, so thanks for the advice, even if it's a little diappointing!

Same. I left Igloo for Avro (lol) late July. Despite providing monthly readings, Avro never billed me or sent my data through to Igloo. So I'm stuck without an Igloo final bill, or my Igloo credit. Was going to give them a ring on the day they went bust, then I heard the news.

/sigh. I'm confident my Avro stuff will be dealt with, but will my Igloo account, since they were my last but 1 supplier. I have all my readings and I won't be that much in credit (less than £100) but it's still annoying I haven't been billed and don't know how much I owe, or they owe me. Have all my meter readings, but don't know who to give them to!
