Is one of the big guys about to go under?

  • None of the Big 6 are going to go bust, the current situation is an opportunity for them.
There is much talk about the burden of these SoLR arrangements on the larger firms, but it seems that Octopus has shown an interest in a takeover of Bulb. Not the actions of a company that thinks that taking on 1.7 million customers in the current market is necssarily a bad decision.
I'm not aware of any of the larger players being forced to take on a SoLR. They certainly want to see how much they can get out of it (including dipping into the industry levy) but they are keen to take those customers on.
Rocky markets are where big players use their financial muscle to weather the storm and consolidate their positions.
