Samsung mobile - Copyright claims

I have a Samsung mobile with a Virgin media account and have recently had a message from Samsung about contract changes. I read the message and it claimed Samsung can now claim copyright to images/films I place on my phone. There was no 'accept or decline' button, the message just disappeared when I got to the end. Since then I've had two messages with the Samsung logo saying 'do you want to see our fun/amusing animation using your latest film?' I didn't click as wondered if it's a scam message.
Surely Samsung have no copyright over my images? I only take photos and films, some of which go on Instagram. How are they allowed to alter these to make an 'amusing animation'?
Would appreciate any advice, or if anyone else has had the same.

  • They can alter them in the same as as Google photos do, via automatic editing software in the gallery app. But you don't need to view them if you don't want. They don't need your permission to add a couple of photos together and show them to you.
