Faulty Washing Machine
Bought a new Indesit washing machine in December 2020 and in March had to call Currys to report a problem with flashing lights and machine stopping. Engineer cam and replaced a PCB. During the period March to date, still have the same flashing lights and machine won't spin.
Engineer came yesterday (29/09/21) and replaced the heater element. He said if the problem persists, we will need to call again. He did say that he thought the part number C00630510 (a module) would likely fail as it was suspect to him.
Called Currys again after he left, as the fault was still there (engineer didn't test the machine before he left). They can't send an engineer until 7/10 and we have no other alternative to hand washing now. We are a family of 6 (2 adults and 4 children).
Thanks for any ideas on how to proceed.

You're not going to get a fast resolution to the immediate need for a machine, so it's a choice between handwashing, a launderette, or buying another machine in the expectation that you will eventually get a repair, refund or replacement (which you might then sell on). It's clearly faulty, but exercising your rights might take a while - almost certainly not by 7th October.1

(1)The right to a price reduction is the right—
(a)to require the trader to reduce by an appropriate amount the price the consumer is required to pay under the contract, or anything else the consumer is required to transfer under the contract, and
(b)to receive a refund from the trader for anything already paid or otherwise transferred by the consumer above the reduced amount.
(5)A consumer who has the right to a price reduction and the final right to reject may only exercise one (not both), and may only do so in one of these situations—
(a)after one repair or one replacement, the goods do not conform to the contract;
(8)If the consumer exercises the final right to reject, any refund to the consumer may be reduced by a deduction for use, to take account of the use the consumer has had of the goods in the period since they were delivered, but this is subject to subsections (9) and (10).
(10)No deduction may be made if the final right to reject is exercised in the first 6 months
You can ask Currys for a refund and look for a new machine, refund may be reduced for the 10 months of use but this should be a relatively small amount.

Thanks for your guidance folks. Appreciate it. I have phones the IndesitService people (who we have been dealing with) and expressed our displeasure and he said he'll get back to me. Not holding my breath but you never know. Thanks again.0
