hI all, my lovely ragdoll cat managed to knock over my tv and caused an internal break which has now spread and tv no longer works. Im looking to replace with either a new or refurbished smart tv. Small budget. Looking to get a reasonable budget tv with the basics under £200 and need dvd player as well. Ive looked at various options but there is nothing as good as a recommendation. Please can you help me out. I want freeview stations and the usual online ones as well. 24" - 32". Also a decent guarantee period. Thanks

Can you claim on contents insurance? If so many insurers decide what you will get, like for like, and don't just send out a chequeJust a thoughtEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Best place to look for a new TV (or any other electrical appliance)
Just set the filters to suit your requirements.

Local freecycle, that's the size people throw out
If not smart you can add that for ~£30
for new
for price checks I like

found a few just need to find stock.

A lot of TV at this size are older models as they don't update them as often.
I would benchmark any choice against thus one at £209

You could have it in your house tomorrow.

Don't be too concerned about "smart" features on the TV - you can add them yourself using an Amazon Fire TV stick or a Roku stick or box, or even an Android box. All you need to do is plug your chosen device into an HDMI port, connect it to your home network (often via WiFi) and away you go.
Note: if you have a separate DVD/Bluray player then your TV will need at least 2 HDMI ports - 1 for the player and 1 for the "smart" device.Jenni x0 -
There are lot of people who replace TVs, not because they are broken but because they want an upgrade.
A high percentage of TVs under five years old get upgraded.
Have a look in the usual places for a second hand one. Be careful not to pay over the odds.

Erm...it's not even Full HD. Unacceptable
This one looks good on paper; space permitting: https://www.electrical-deals.co.uk/tvs/smart-tvs/sharp-4t-c40bl2kf2ab-40-smart-4k-ultra-hd-led-android-tv-freeview-hd
Hopefully too big for the cat to knock over. But a few reviews citing a buggy firmware experience. So perhaps not the best choice. But at least a decent benchmark.
If sticking with the criteria of the OP; then these are starting points:

On the other hand we have retailers and distributors who have no idea if their product is Full HD or not:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/electriQ-32-Inch-Full-HD-LED-Smart-TV-Freeview-HD-and-Freeview-Play-/133498996658
It's at least under the £200 mark. But for how long will their Smart platform be updated, if at all.
Android TV has an advantage there.0
