Dreamcloud mattress 'sale' shenanigans

For the last couple of months I've been looking at new mattresses, and Dreamcloud come highly recommended.

But their website seems to play fast and loose with the 'genuine discount' rules. Every week the 'sale' discount of £300 off a mattress is magically extended for another few days.

Is there anywhere that keeps an actual price history for these things? The T&C of the current sale say it ends on Monday, so I'm wondering if £300 'off' is actually a good deal or if the next 'sale' will be better!

Its not a Consumer Right to have a discount .
Many of these mattress are overpriced £150 jobs . Discounts vary and often more can be found via voucher codes .
Never heard of Dreamcloud  , who says they are very good ?

The consumer right is to know if the sale reduction is genuine.

If this is the wrong forum for the question please bump it elsewhere.

There is no such consumer right (and it's not clear what you mean by "genuine") beyond the regulations prohibiting retailers from advertising a discount unless they had actually been marketing the item recently at the higher price.
  • All these sales are a con, a retailer couldn't afford £300 off a genuine price of a mattress, the discounts are probably legal but if you think they aren't you can complain to the ASA.

You just have to find one you like at a price you are happy with (and then not look at any future prices) :)

Well that's precisely the point. Every week the 'sale' is magically extended. I have yet to see the mattress for sale at 'full price'.

But what I really wanted to know is whether there is likely to be a better deal than the existing one. If there was a website of price history for mattresses like PriceSpy I could check.

Does anybody else sell it? Surely the question is whether you can currently buy it any cheaper elsewhere. The "full price" isn't relevant because I don't expect anybody actually buys it at that price. Traditional retailers will often get round the rules by having the full price item in some obscure branch for 28 days or whatever the regs say.

Local Shopping or Moneysaving sections might know  of such  or even Google .
As USA site has same sort of discounts .
