Hello MoneySavingExpert
I purchased 2 tickets to watch Al Murry in Shrewsbury, it was scheduled for 20/06/2020, with Covid-19 it was re-scheduled for 15/09/2021.
My wife's a nurse and has to take regular Covid-19 test's, on 15/09/2021 she had a text to isolate, which meant we could not go and see Al Murry.
I purchased Ticket insurance, which I thought meant I would get a refund if I had a good reason not to be able to go to the event.
The ticket insurance came back on Monday the 27th and said that the would not refund, and gave me a T&C's document that I don't understand.
Does anyone know what I can do to get a refund?
Both my wife and I are both doubled Jabbed, so we have done everything we can I feel.
The insurer is TicketPlan.
Thank you for reading
Regards

Did your wife test positive for coronavirus (PCR test)?0
-
Hello Jeremy
Yes, it was a PCR test.0 -
Check that you gave them all the facts. The rules are still that if you test positive for coronavirus, you must self isolate. It states clearly on their guidance that if you can produce evidence that you test positive for coronavirus (PCR test) and the self isolation period includes the date of the event. It should also include close family. See https://www.ticketplangroup.com/covid19
The issue may be that the tickets were bought before 2 December 2020, but see what they say.0 -
The rules do state that if you do not need self isolate when living with someone tested positive for covid, as you are double vaccinated, then no refund would be given.
However , as you bought your tickets before 1 December 2020 the rules which applied when you bought may be different.
What do the terms and conditions that they have sent you say?

"the death, accident, or illness happening to you, a member of your immediate family or any person(s) in the group due to attend the booked event with you, provided you supply either a doctor’s certificate where your refund request is for accident or illness which is not a pre-existing medical condition"

As I said earlier, the issue may be that the tickets were issued much earlier.0
