Coffee table - how much is it worth?

Hi

I have had this coffee table forever but need to sell it due to lack of space. I  always thought it was quite unique and haven't seen similar.

I have no idea what price to sell it for or even where to begin! Any ideas?

I don't know what wood it is, but something a bit unusual

It's about 120cm wide, 60cm deep 50cm high

Thanks

It's very nice; I don't know much about furniture but I would expect that to go for over a couple of hundred..

can you find anything vague similar on ebay?  or in a second hand/antique shop??  That will give you an indication of current prices though obviously ebay may be inflated.  (sorry can't see the table at all on this pc...so can't assist much further)

  • It's just quite an unusual table, which is why I ask as I don't know what to compare it to!

I'd just whack it on FB for a couple of hundred, see if you get any interest and take it from there.
  • Thanks, yeah seems like £200 is a good starting point
  • Hi,
aye, stick it on FB or ebay with a reserve price, or buy it now, give you an idea of value.
    Lovely table, solid.
    Good luck.
  • It looks like an oriental/Chinese style opium table to me 😉

I'd have a search on eBay/google, using those key words and take it from there.....

I was surprised at the £200 figures being bandied around.

Is there a local property auctioneer?

Local FB groups are good for selling. But, ebay is less good, as you'll get people asking you to post it to them.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I think it depends on whether it is pine or a hardwood - the sides and legs look a bit like Yew, but not so sure about the top.

If it is a less-common solid hardwood then there should be some intrinsic value in the wood, if not the table.
