Rgee said:The broadband service was connected and only had a download speed of 0.5 Mbps at best - and sometimes completely non-existent. This was well below their promised rate (which was still low by national standards.) After several days of trying to get the problem resolved without any success, we decided to terminate our contract with them and to order a service from a different supplier with a better guaranteed speed and that was cheaper.
If the other service uses the same line then they I'm not sure why you expect the service speed to be any different?
I'm also not sure why you went with them in the first place as they aren't exactly cheap and many other providers are cheaper (a few minutes on this site would have shown you that).0 -
The cooling off period has expired but as the supplied product does not match, or even come close to, the supplier specification surely it can be rejected on that basis alone.

As quoted above by the_lunatic_is_in_my_head, UW says (my bolding, not UW): Our Peace of Mind Promise - when you switch all your home services to UW you can get...30 days to change your mind, and switch away without penalty.
According to UW, 'All your home services' means broadband plus landline plus mobile plus gas plus electricity, which they call Double Gold.
OP says they did not purchase Double Gold.
UW's page is very craftily worded.0 -
Without knowing what nearby houses get it sounds as if it is a hardware issue in the house. Perhaps a check of the line may be required.0
