Replacing an old gas boiler......if not now , then when??

They're not being phased out in 2025. The plan is to prohibit them in new builds from that date, and as replacements from 2035. Correct. But there is the implied Government treat that gas prices will be increased until consumers say "I submit". Those who are not so young may just bear the punishment tariff. The younger people who inherit our properties are so environmentally conscious that they will be delighted to pay for a heat pump and all of the attendant household modifications such as changing out microbore piping. Personally, I am not convinced that the heat pump is a technology that will be mass rolled out for the retrofitting of older homes.macman said:

A heat pump certainly won’t work for this house - and it’s less than 20 years old, highly insulated, full underfloor heating up and down, and has just under 4kWh solar panels.Sterlingtimes said:
