Easy Online Short-Term + BoilerCare Gold - Is the boiler care mandatory?

I can't get through to EDF to ask ..

Does anyone know, with the EDF Tariff "Easy Online Short-Term + BoilerCare Gold", it quotes that;

"
  • Buy 6 months of your boiler maintenance and support plan from Domestic & General; get 6 months on us"
.. but I'm not clear on whether that means I "have" to take the boiler care, or can just ignore it?

I don't want it ... so I don't want to take this tariff and find I'm stuck paying £11.70 a month once the first 6 months 'free' runs out ..

Anyone know?

    Yes you have to take it.
    I briefly thought about that tariff while I was still with EDF but not enough to know what the cancellation terms are like!

    Where did you see this tariff?

    I've just done a quote on the EDF site for dual fuel, and all I was offered was a 3 year fixed tariff (not the one you refer to)

    Not seen them on any comparison sites recently either (unless I've missed them because they are too far down)

    It's an offer for existing EDF customers. I was ex-GNE and it was one of the ones I could have chosen.
