Good Housekeeping Bond - Holiday Cottages

This good housekeeping bond sounds like a right accident waiting to happen.

Firstly, why should you pay a bond when you've already taken out their insurance? Shows how worthless that is.

Secondly, after using one particular holiday let company for around two decades without mishap, to be told you are suddenly not trustworthy enough to rent without paying a £500 bond is a bit of an insult.

We have already decided not to book any property that requires a bond. If that means no more holiday cottages so be it.

You have not said which company you are complaing about. The one that i am with does not require a bond but I can imagine circumstances where larger properties letting to hen or stag parties might request one. Some holiday let owners on the forum have had to deal with expensive malicious damage to their property/

Do they have to pay and excess-maybe £500?
