Hello,

This is probably a very basic problem - it amounts to not getting work we paid for - but can I run it past the forum for advice?

We had major problems with birds nesting under our solar panels, and eventually decided to get the panels bird-proofed (basically mesh between panels and roof).  We used a local firm and paid around £400.

The guy (it's his business) was very pleasant, answered all our questions and did what seemed to be a good job.  The work was guaranteed for 10 years.  We noticed the difference within a couple of days.  But within a week we noticed a loose block of mesh on one side, and a pigeon making its way in.

He was most apologetic, explained what was wrong and came straight round to fix it.

A few days later we saw birds getting in on the opposite side.  There were bits of the mesh and one of the latches in the garden.

Again, our man couldn't have been nicer.  He came straight round and fixed the problem.

Within days the mesh on the first side was breached again.  The fitter said he was short staffed and very busy but made an appointment to come round.  Maybe it was stupid of me but I told him that if he was pushed it wasn't urgent, and to take a day or two if he needed.

We've heard nothing since.  No replies to messages, emails and calls.  I've been polite and phrased emails acknowledging the pressure he was under, providing him with a ready made excuse that he knew I'd accept.so that he'd come back and fix things.

What would forumites suggest should be my next step please?

Thanks
