So we have to accept the 400% price increase in gas since last year but why are the daily charges also increasing 20% - 50% ?

Assuming this is purely administarative, it has nothing to do with the price of gas.

It isn't purely administrative. It just comes down to how the energy company wants to price their tariffs.

It means the DC increase can limit the price they put up the gas electric prices. Bulb have increased their DC's by around 11p in under 3 years. I left them when they increased not only the DC but the kWh prices late last year but unfortunately the supplier I moved to has recently gone out of business.
