Can anyone help - we have a rural village cricket club where we are experiencing difficulties with youths hanging around after dark. Every now and again they damage things (if they were causing no harm we would just leave them be), apparently last night were climbing on top of the roof of the changing rooms (which is an old container), which is also dangerous.
We want to put some cctv down there as a deterrent and to try and move them on to somewhere else. Can anyone recommend a cctv that is perhaps battery or solar powered as we do not have electricity to the site?
Just keep swimming!

You could try something like the Blink camera from Amazon which is battery operated but has subscription based cloud storage, although free for the first 30 days. Unless you can mount it completely out of reach then you do run the risk of it going missing though.

There's also the Eufy Solocam E40, which also runs on battery power and although a bit more expensive it does offer subscription free storage.1 -
Without a connection to the internet is going to need to have mobile data to do live record/notifications1

What are you hoping? The cameras are a deterrent? To capture images of the people for later complaint? Live notifications?1

Take your pick. Battery/solar powered, record to microSD card or over 4g. No subscription.(I have not used these devices though, just their POE versions)

As a deterrent ? - That means they are going to need see the camera, which just makes it another target
A "CCTV in operation sign" is a cheaper deterrent1 -
Some dummy cameras & some signs.
Or if you want images what about a trail camera ??

If you haven't already, report each incident where damage occurs to the local constabulary.
I doubt the CCTV will deter them. However, if anyone associated to the club has line of sight to the location, then a WiFi connection for streaming footage might be possible. It is going to be a bit involved setting it up and getting it to work reliably. It probably is not worth the effort.
It is probably worth letting your local councillors know as they will also be able to liaise and encourage them to do a periodic drive by etc..
A dream is not reality, but who's to say which is which?1
