HSBC iPad app problems

My wife has been unable to access the apple version of the HSBC app since it updated about 3 weeks ago (start Septber 2021). Hsbc say they're aware of an issue affecting iOS12 and iOS15 users but my wife's device is running iOS 14🤷🏼♂️ Phone calls to HSBC result, after being on hold for the best part of an hour, in being told to buy a newer device!
I know from internet searches that many Apple device users are affected (thank goodness I'm on android), but HSBC's response to this problem has been pathetic.

I am on iOS 14.8, on a relatively ancient iPad, and my HSBC app is working fine.
Has your wife tried to remove the app and re-install it?0 -
iPad 6th gen iOS 14.7.1 and iPhone X on 14.8 and no issues, can she use the online version as opposed to the app?It should be possible to upgrade to 14.8 without going to 15 so I’d try that if reinstalling the app doesn’t resolve.0

Hi, and thanks for the responses. She was advised not to uninstall and reinstall apparently, but I've done exactly that yesterday and all is now working. It seems that advice from HSBCs helpline is less than helpful🙄
