Credit cards for people with really bad credit

Options
Hi guys

My credit score has recently been decimated by a CCJ and I've run out of things I can do to rebuild it.

I'd like to get a credit card so that I can build trust and improve my score that way. I'm well organised and never miss payments.

All of the soft checks I make tell me I have a 0% chance of being accepted for credit builder cards. Does anyone know of a firm that would consider me for a card? A limit of £10 would be enough as I don't actually have any desire to establish debt. I just want a credit card for credit score reasons.

Thank you!

Ignore your credit score, it is not seen or used by any lender and is only a very rough guide as to how the company thinks a lender may view you,
If you make sure that your credit history is good which (along with credit utilisation, availabity and affordability) is what a lender is interested in, then once you are at a point where they think you are a good risk it will be easier to get a card. If you have never missed a payment then the credit history will already show that and you can ignore the ficticious score and will have no need to get a card that could in reality make things worse to a lender.

Nothing will improve until said CCJ has dropped off your file.

May I suggest you look on the "credit file and ratings" board.

The stickie post there "what your credit score really means" should tell you all you really need to know about credit scores.
