offline BBC iPlayer query

not had this happen before. i'm using a huawei tablet and downloaded some iplayer programs to watch on a recent flight. outward bound and no issues - tablet was in airplane mode and informed me that it was offline and go to downloads section to watch anything - all good.

on way home the same tablet just informed me it had no internet connection but there was no link or way of accessing the downloads part of the app. has anyone else experienced this and if so was there anything i could have done to get it to the downloads section? btw, the app is the latest version.

Had the program itself expired ? - the BBC sets times limits on some of the programs

no. was still current. the odd thing was as soon as i got back on wifi the downloaded programs were available (which rather defeated the object!).

Just a thought (I'm speculating), were you overseas on your trip and did you connect to non-UK wifi? Maybe the iPlayer/BBC sofware's geographical restrictions kicked in and stopped playback until you were back on a UK IP address?
