Cafe Nero subscription

I logged onto my Lloyds app this morning and it flagged a new section which was subscriptions. I didn't think I had any but clicked on it anyway. To my annoyance I had a cafe nero one. I have never to my knowledge signed up for one and not have I used it. I have blocked the subscription.
I did have a cafe nero app but have now deleted it. I don't ever sign for these things and feel that had somehow happened by stealth. If someone else said that to me I would have thought they must have agreed to it, but I really haven't ever seen any sign of this. I have also paid for coffee every time I have been into Nero.
I have sent an email complaining to them but I won't be buying coffee from them again. This is probably no bad thing as it will save me money. I am still really annoyed that this has happened though.
Has anyone else experienced this?

I suspect, however, that you did agree to it somewhere along the line, perhaps when using the Caffe Nero app. It's probably worth downloading the app again and having a good look at the terms and conditions.
Edited to add: just taken a look at the website. Was the subscription for the cafes themselves, or some sort of coffee club, where they send coffee beans, etc. to your house?1 -
Thanks the direct debit advice is useful. I will call Lloyds now. I agree I must have signed up somehow but I know I didn't do so knowingly. It is just frustrating that I have managed to do this and not know how.
I have searched my emails and can't see anything such as a thank you for subscribing email either.0 -
Spoken to the bank and it isn't a direct debit. It is linked to the long card number on my debit card. The bank has stopped my card being used there now, which is good as it prevents a bad spending habit on my part.
However, it seems to be a variable amount that has been taken and seems to be what I have actually bought from there, so now the call has ended I suspect that the payment may have been mis-classified as a subscription.0 -

>>> Link your debit or credit card for secure and speedy payment, enjoy watching your stamps build on your digital loyalty card, plus earn exclusive rewards along the way.<<<
Me thinks Lloyds got it wrong.Life in the slow lane1 -
You can link a card in the Caffè Nero app to pay and collect loyalty stamps at the same time. This is probably a pre-authorisation so shows as a continuous payment authority and therefore Lloyds is being confusing by calling it a subscription.
if you had at some point entered your card number into the Nero app then it sounds like everything is fine.2 -
With Lloyds Bank there are regular 'offers' shown on digital banking which give money back on purchases over a period. I suspect that's what this is. On my account is shows the amount accumulated over time.
