Move to a big supplier or hold fire?

Presently with Outfox the Market, who haven't gone under yet. I'm a very low user (987 Kwh per annum) and just use electricity. Today I tried to switch to British Gas's Zero Fixed until 2022 nil standing charge tariff, but so far without success, although I still harbour a slight hope their sales team might ring me.
I'm in a little bit of a quandary at the moment. Should I stay with OTM and hope they weather the storm, or should I move to one of the bigger suppliers where I know I will face a higher tariff, but not perhaps as high as it may be if I continue to dither? And once I've swallowed the bitter pill of having to pay more, at least I'll have relative peace of mind, particularly if I end up on a fixed tariff, safe in the knowledge the price wont go up in the immediate future.
I mention a big supplier because would it really be worth considering moving to one of the smaller ones, since all the talk at the moment indicates that virtually all the smaller suppliers may not survive the winter?
Thank you.

why was the switch unsuccessful? are you on a fix with OTM, if so how long left? If more than a month or 2 i would say stay as it will be alot cheaper than anything you can get now. But if your not on a fix/less than a month or 2 left At the moment a variable tariff is the best due to it essentially being a 6 month fix - until April. But if you dont want the risk a fix is obviously the way forward

If you look at this BG website and fill in personal details...
    https://www.britishgas.co.uk/GetAQuote/tariff-information
....you're presented with loads of tariffs, but perhaps because of present circumstances, only two are being offered by BG, whether via online chat or telephone call. As a low user, one or two members on here kindly told me about the BG tariff I've mentioned. The online chat person today at least asked for my number, hence my slight hope the sales team will contact me and through them I may be able to take out the BG tariff I want.
The tariff I have at present with Outfox the Market is  Clean VE 7.0 which is a variable tariff. I did receive an email from OTM on 9th September telling me that the estimated annual amount I will pay is increasing from £227 to £240.from 9th October. Given present circumstances, a great price, but for how long, who knows?
    Thanks for your input.
