You asked about Virgin and I linked you to their product, with the date of the page only November last year saying it was a new product launch then:
"Virgin Media Essential Broadband will be available to those receiving Universal Credit. It will come with a speed of 15 Mbps and a fixed price of £15 per month, with no fixed-term contract length and no price changes while benefit payments are being received."
That remains current on the Virgin website. Given the service level was only launched last November, I would not expect any review until this coming November, at which time Virgin may enhance the service level if they feel they need to for the sake of competing with BT. It is entirely possible that Virgin will feel that they don't need or want to, depending on how profitable such a product is for them (including calculated value of corporate social responsibility linked to the service).
Now you want the "upgraded" BT service, so that's fine, but was not what the question was.
Really, for more detail than the respective providers publish I can only suggest that this will need a call to discuss with the chosen provider.
Hope that helps, and hope you can get the suitable package at a good price.1 -
