PCN for incomplete number plate

Hello All
I have received PCN reason for issue shows No Ticket , however a ticket was purchased but only last 3 letter of the number plate were entered so I’m assuming they have missed it or that it is not acceptable. The ticket was paid by cash and binned long ago.

I’ve been trying to find other posts relating to this company but not many threads posted. Maybe a new company. I know they are a IPC member hence the appeal will be to IAS and as I’ve read most likely to be rejected so no point.
So my question is should I try the approach of “driver did purchase a ticket but full number plate was not entered” and ask for the data of the pdt machine hoping they might say oh yes a ticket was paid and cancel or shall I just stick to the template in the newbees and ride it out.
Thanks
Thanks

I don’t know who’s but on the council website it shows it as privately owned. It’s in the city center.1

We now say that people should appeal to the non-independent farce of the IAS, knowing full well that they only upheld a woeful 4% of consumer appeals last year. i haven't updated the NEWBIES thread yet about this recent advice shift.
It's because some PPCs drop out in one in five cases and as long as you don't use the non-standard/late IAS that costs consumers £15 to lose and be bound by that version of the kangaroo court, then you may as well show your evidence to them.
No templates. It's not like POPLA. Attach evidence at first stage and keep replying, make it a game of appeal tennis till the PPC give up. And if they don't, and you lose at IAS (almost inevitably)then keep screenshots as evidence that you tried to resolve the matter.
Looks better later if this little firm try a court claim.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Many judges will regard this as trivial, a waste of court time. Read this and complain to your MP.

This company is very small beer

They would be foolish to risk court imo.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.2 -

Any tips on how to get this info out from them?0 -
How do you know the full numberplate wasn't entered? I wrongly assumed you might have the PDT machine receipt or phone app proof, or at least evidence of paying (card payment).
That's what I meant, but after reviewing your first post shows you binned the ticket and paid in cash.
You can't get anything much out if them in the 21 days you have from rejection letter to go to the known (by all accounts and their own Annual Report stats) kangaroo court of IAS.
Maybe don't bother with IAS and sit tight, as you have no evidence and will lose at IAS anyway.
But you could ask the PPC for the machine record and tell the PPC that you think it was a keying error and that you paid £x.xx in cash around 5 or 10 mins after arrival. As such, you require sight of the machine record under the pre action protocol will see them in court if they refuse.

Iv told them from now on enter the full number and Take a pic of the ticket, and pay by card.
Yes this is what im going to try, if it does show partial number plate entered I think they won't gamble on taking it to court. Lets see.But you could ask the PPC for the machine record and tell the PPC that you think it was a keying error and that you paid £x.xx in cash around 5 or 10 mins after arrival. I’ve had a reply from them , must say it was quick, they are saying due to data protection they cannot provide me with records. Can anybody advise me on this whether it’s true or not and what next steps to take? Many thanks
also forgot to mention they sent me a photo of the sign with the terms and conditions and it’s not even readable lol. What a joke1 -
The scammers probably already know you paid but don't want to share the evidence as that would not earn them anything. Demand a copy of the machine data for the day with other registration numbers that are not similar to yours to be partially redacted. This will get round their data protection excuse. Make sure they know that you will request a full unredacted copy to be provided for the judge should they choose to take this to the small claims court2
