Ongoing Amazon Headache!

I ordered 2 tins of paint from Amazon a while back, the items both arrived damaged, one of them was very bad it was a box full of paint and it had paint leaking through the box onto my porch floor.
I contacted Amazon and they told me to send back the one but to dispose of the very bad one which i did.
A month later they charged me for the one i disposed of and i contacted them explaining and they refunded me, next month on and i received an email saying i'm being charged for the unreturned item again and i made contact and was refunded by them with an apology.
The next month i was once again charged and had to contact them resulting in another apology followed by refund.
On my order history the item is currently showing as return not complete which i think is causing this issue but amazon customer service told me they can't close the return.
I wonder if i will continue to experience this problem forever as I'm waiting for the payment to be taken at the beginning of next month. Any ideas?

  • Have you told them this keeps happening - most operators don't look back at the history.  You need to ask to speak with a supervisor, explain the whole situation and tell them that you need the return closing correctly.

Cancel/Close the return on your account yourself and when/if they recharge you then send them the correspondence and point out there was a previous agreement to refund.
  • You could email jeff@amazon.com to explain what has happened.  This escalates matters which can be helpful to resolve matters when amazon customer service scripts/prescribed actions don't
