Pokemon Go event rescheduled to a new date we cant attend - what are my rights?

But it was possibly a coincidence it was the OP's children's school holidays so he chose a week day.
All schools are not on holiday at the same time.
Scottish schools are on holiday from 11th October so that week will suit them.
They can't accommodate everybody.
They may have had limitations on what weekends they could use the park.0 -
There were limitations on the weekends - numbers at the venue agree with the council relating to Covid and H&S considerations.
Niantic could have refunded but have chosen not to, possibly within their rights but definitely unfair to those who couldn’t attend the rescheduled event.
I have been repeatedly told that I can enjoy the event from anywhere in the world but the reality was I couldn’t enjoy it anywhere because I was working and would have been dismissed from my job if I’d played it. My children were at school.
Niantic knew of these issues but chose to continue regardless. I spent of six weeks messaging support and received a series of replies that suggested they hadn’t read what I’d said.I was happy to accept in game features only - I understood that numbers would be limited at the venue - but they continually ignored my request to take part on Saturday or Sunday.
I don’t know what the answer is. Just left feeling annoyed and accepting the reality that Niantic are just concerned about making money and that’s what drives poor customer service for people who have a problem.
Sorry to hear that someone else has had a similar experience.0 -
A couple of points. 1 - I get the impression this is a world wide event. If it was UK only there would be no need to mention 'local time'. If that is the case then it would obviously be impossible to satisfy everybody who had booked a particular day for a specific reason.2. The OP booked for Friday and is being provided with Friday tickets again. As far as the organisers are concerned that is a like-for-like match.0

2. It isn't a like-for-like match. If you buy dated tickets for anything, they are for a certain day. The consumer can't turn up on a different day and expect admission. Nor can the retailer unilaterally change the day.
To make it worse in this case the organiser has actually refused to change the day for everyone, even for the phone gameplay aspects of the event.
SRRAE, have you tried asking for a refund through Google or Apple, whoever it was you paid through.0 -
The retailer did not unilaterally change the day. The OP was offered a refund or a voucher to use at a new event. He chose the latter offer.
The company have transferred tickets on the same basis as originally ordered. So those who originally booked weekend tickets will have weekend tickets again. So there wouldn't be an option to change days.0
