HGV licence surrender
I recently retired and my hgv licence ran out in july. After looking at my photo licence i realised my photo needs renewing because its 10 years old , When my HGV licence ran out in July i received a D2 form to fill in to renew which i don't want to do. my question is do i fill in the D2 in to surrender my HGV licence and renew my photo licence or can i just fill in a D1 at the post office to renew my photo driving licence ? I have rung DVLA many times and cannot even get in a queue went to post office and they did not deal with HGV licence .Hope this makes sense

Do you have to surrender your HGV entitlement, or does it automatically lapse unless you renew it? I would assume the latter, so a simply photocard renewal/update should be all you have to do (and should be able to do it online).Jenni x1

Just renew the photo, your Licence will come back without the HGV category.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!3

If you have a current passport then you should be able to do the photocard licence renewal online - no need to go to a Post Office.
