Sedum(s) are what a friend has.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.

From memory, Gardeners' World last week, or maybe week before,  had a bit on green roofs and plants
Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens

I watched it yesterday. Recorded a couple of days ago. It had Monty Don and Carol Klein in it.
Some great tips for some different plants.
A lot depends on the size and strength of roof also its direction, which you haven't mentioned.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on

The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well

  • Thank you for your suggestions, I will watch it this evening.

Sempervivum are usually recommended,  there was one on beechgrove garden that showed how to propagate them. Sedum, stone crop, saxifrage.
Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.
  • I did this very thing about 16 years ago, it works beautifully and i actually bought it ready-done, it was sold as a 'mat', you could choose the dimensions to suit your project.
I bought smaller ones to cover drain covers too.
All sempervivum are best suited, in my opinion.
