I have no central heating, or rather I don't use it. I do have an oil radiator I've switched on when it's been ball-freezingly cold. We're tough up North! :#:D
If it is in working order, I'd think twice before having the gas disconnected.
As QrisB says, even with the current and projected high gas prices it is still the cheapest way to heat the home in the depths of winter...

The boiler has not been operational for over 8 years when it developed a fault. It's a very old (1979) inefficient model and is likely condemnable by now. I have only ever used the oil radiator in one room when ball-freezing conditions have ensued. It's hooked up to a meter plug. So far this winter, It's used £22.47 in electricity.

A property without gas might well be much harder to sell and the price would be lower, so any apparent savings on standing charges could well turn out to be illusory.

Do you have figures for LAST winter though? This year has -so far, she says carefully - been incredibly mild.

Bear in mind that the government plans to ban new gas supplies from 2025.

If you have the supply disconnected, you might not get it back again.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

Presuming you didn't install a Wood burning stove you should look at installing a Gas stove, My first thought was you could heat the house with the Hob, but that may put out too much water vapor.
If your a coffee drinker at least make use of the gas ho to make it.
