Is it time to change from gas to electricity for heating and cooking?

Question,
How would I go about weighing up the benefits (or not) of changing my gas oven, hob and boiler from gas to electricity?
All three are nearing the end of their reliable life so now may be the time to do it, if it is a viable and appropriate thing to do.

Oven and hob are easy to switch, assuming you have the power supply in kitchen. Boiler is more tricky

I have to ask, why? Until Gas hits 20p/kwh why would you want to cook on an electric hob?

At roughly 5x the cost of gas, I struggle to see the benefits.

Used to live somewhere with no gas supply, and spent a small fortune on heating costs

If you want to spend more on heating by all means do it.
