Bullet Journaling

in Crafting
Admittedly this is not strictly 'craft' but it is a lot more crafty/involved than a usual diary/planner/organiser etc.
I have an obsession with craft, fun stationery and journalling and own too many filofaxes and similar. I've tried happy planner, busy days planner, a paper house one now that I've had 18 months (or will have by December when it finishes) and it's just not inspiring me.
I have an extremely poor working memory and I'm forever surrounded by scraps of paper where I write things down to remember and... well - never do!
I've skirted round bullet journalling for a long time but never took the full plunge. Now, in advance of 2022 I'm reading all the books (fully paid up member of All The Gear - No Idea Club here!) and bookmarking ideas/layouts/pages I'd like to include and track/make notes of etc and the idea of having them all in one place/journal is both incredible and overwhelming. (Overwhelming because you're creating your own journal from scratch that is completely tailored to you and your requirements rather than pre-printed pages/ideas restricting you.) I've got a full planner for next year to start in January and a smaller one to start now to take me up to that point so I can get used to what I like, the layouts/keys/pages etc I like and what I need to track or edit as I go ahead.
Does anyone else bullet journal or keep a diary/journal itself? Very interested to discuss it with like-minded people!

I am a paper/pens/diary junkie.
I have a moleskin diary in my handbag, a filofax pocket size in my handbag, and another diary by my bed. All of them have the diary on the left and the right page is just lined for notes, etc.
I've looked a bullet journals and they just seem like too much work. I just make my weekly list, cross it off if done. What's not done, just gets put at the top of the list on the next page. I often use different colour inks to know how long something has been on the list.
I tape in tickets from places I've been.1 -
Bullet journaling is very simple at it's most basic and I wouldn't be without it now. I too have been a 'book for this and a book for that all my life' Recipe book, family dates, finances, work schedules etc.... I loved having a reason for a nice new shiny notebook. Then I discovered the bullet journal and was so sorry I hadn't come across it far sooner when I was younger with kids at school etc...... I wouldn't have had the lovely new notebooks but I'd have had one book containing all the information I would need in one place.

I love the idea of bullet journaling! I have tried a dotted notebook as that seems to be the ones people use, but I can never get it looking as good as the examples I've seen. I don't think I'm as arty as I think I am and certainly can't draw for toffee 😁1

I've taken ideas from bullet journaling and use a couple in my notebooks together with lots of less organised lists. With my mixture of styles, I have found that removable self-adhesive card index tabs (you can write on both sides) are invaluable. I'm not yet through the packet of 40 I bought two years ago (Avery Ultra Tabs/Bookmarks) but I think you could probably improvise your own with removable masking tape. It makes it so easy to find different pages quickly, especially the latest to do list. I'm hopeless at trying to keep an index!1
