Hello All.
I bought a suit from Marks & Spencer, and took it Morrisons to be dry cleaned, some months after. There was damage to the suit when I cam to collect it from Morrisons, and I asked the woman there about it and she said I've got to take it up with M&S as she said it's a fault with the suit. Where do I stand? Is it Morrisons fault or M&S? Would appreciate help. Stephen

It will depend on what damage it is.
If it's a tear that wasn't there before you took it to be cleaned then that's obviously the cleaner's fault.
If however there is bubbling on the lapels or front of the suit jacket then that is likely to be faulty interfacing. I used to work for a company that made interfacing testing it's products. Dry cleaning would occasionally reveal a lack of "stick" to the interfacing which would manifest itself as bubbles - essentially the suit fabric would go from being flat to looking more like bubble wrap.
Likewise some companies find it cheaper, faster to glue things that have previously been sewn - hems are one example. The same principle as above applies and it is would M&S you need to talk to.
One might expect this to happen over a number of years and repeated dry cleaning but not on the first one.
In either case you expect anything to be fit for purpose and should last for a reasonable amount of time. "some months" isn't a reasonable amount of time for a suit which could concievably last for years.
