Thanks , but I can't find anything that says skimlinks in my profile ,searched all over it. prob not had enough coffee yet !

Click on Profile, then Edit Profile - there is a tickbox just under your email address, make sure it's unticked.

Go to https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/profile/edit

Untick 'Display Skimlinks?' then Save.

You'll have to enter your password to save.

When your profile page reappears, 'Display Skimlinks?' may still have a tick next to it but you can ignore that, it's just visual. If you refresh, or go back to to https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/profile/edit, the tick will correctly disappear.
