I've often got a bird on a link someone posted, even if it is random, sometimes some people seem to get it at the same time.
There are usually certain pages, birds seem to appear more on. 
Whether that is true or not again.

I certainly feel that there are more popular pages for them to appear on, but if you want a regular bird, roughly check every 25-35 minutes.
