Speaking as an OCD carpenter I would source material to pack out door lining so that the architrave match the skirting board.
    Thanks. Probably the easiest way.
Wickes do 28mm x 4mm pine strip that would level it up with the skirting.
It wouldn’t be flush with the door but can’t have both ways.

Yes. Skirting board sticking out proud of the architrave would be more noticeable than the door frame/door alignment.
The packing strip needs to be 32mm x 7mm and this is the nearest I can find:

I could chip away 4mm of plaster to save cutting the wood down to 32mm.
Either that or build up the gap with new plaster.
Should be able to do it with a straight edge to work up to.

Do you have any independent timber merchants near by ?
If so, pop in and ask if they have a thicknesser planer and a band saw - With these two bits of equipment, they will be able to cut suitable strips to the exact size you need (my local branch of Jewsons can do this).

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

Yes, there’s a Huws Gray not far away.
Also was going to try some Polycell Plaster Repair powdered filler to extend the plaster to the edge.

    Thanks for the suggestions.
I’ve managed to make up the gap with a 450g pack of Polycell Plaster Repair.
Levelled it with a plastering trowel and can clean up the edge once the architrave is on.
