G24 Appeal Help

Good morning all, was wondering if you guys could help me!

On the 7th September I received a “Final Reminder” PCN from G24 Ltd stating I was 15 minuets over the car park time limit.

Firstly the final reminder was the first communication I had from G24 claiming I had missed the 14 days to pay the reduced rate of £60 instead of £100. G24 we’re now requesting £100.

I telephoned G24 on the 8th September explaining that I never received the initial PCN and that I was happy to pay the reduced rate of £60 but now £100. G24 advised me to appeal the decision. I then went onto the appeal site and filled out the appeal process.

Exactly 14 days later I had a response saying my appeal was rejected because they claim the original PCN was sent on The 29/07/21. I never received the original.

Now my thought is can they prove that it was sent on this date ?

The next step they have advised is to contact Independent Appeals Service however they want £15 for my appeal which I don’t think it’s fair for an additional charge.

Any advice on what you all think I should do would be appreciate it.

Yes they can probably prove that the ntk was posted , it's a daily occurrence for any parking company , so on the balance of probabilities , yes they posted it

Don't bother with the IAS paid for appeal , only the free one

What about plan A ? A landowner cancellation after a complaint , this is your best option , it always is , ALWAYS !
  • What would be the process for plan A? As the car park is for a small shopping precinct does not belong to a particular retailer

Please read the NEWBIES thread.  The reason NEVER to try the non standard £15 IAS is fully explained in the third post of that top announcement thread.

And PLAN A is fully explained, with a link to a long running landowner complaints successes thread, in the very first post of the same sticky (pinned at the top) thread.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The advice below is regularly posted by @Umkomaas: -
    1. Google searches
    2. If a retail park, check on any signage which lists the on-site outlets
    3. Ask retailers on the site if there is a managing agent
    4. Ask retailers on the site to whom do they pay rent
    5. Contact the local authority and ask who pays the non-domestic/business rate for the car park
    6. Contact the local Valuation Office and ask if they know. They often have a website which might provide the information
    7. Contact The Land Registry and for £3 they will provide definitive detail

Is it reasonable to conclude that you are admitting breach of the parking terms but wish to pay the charge as though you had received the first notice at the level of £60.

In which case yes have a word with the landowner.

If that fails perhaps pay the £100 then consider claiming the refund of £40 in MCOL

But sadly the costs balance the benefits, if you have breached the terms of parking and the £100 is reduced to £60, but at least you will have been in control of events.

But above all do not ignore as if the Parking charge company pursue you and win the costs could be but uncertainty will be greater

Can't agree with the above new poster.  Have a look at his other replies and decide for yourself, OP.

No regular here tells people to pay and the NEWBIES thread tells you how to get this cancelled.
