Hey

Looking at purchasing another mattress and once again been looking at Emma.

They have been on offer for nearly a year and one thing i did notice this morning is the RRP has gone up another £100 while on a 35% offer.

It this illegal as im sure when you increase a price you have to let it run at full RRP for a while ?

Who can i complain to as it looks like emma is constantly on offer and looks like the RRP is increased to make the offer look better.

Hi, we move threads if we think they’ll get more help elsewhere (please read the forum rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.

I’ve moved your thread from the ‘I wanna’ board to the ‘Consumer Rights’ board, where it is better suited.

It depends upon the exact way in which they're running the offer.  They're not allowed to cheat, but as with a lot of retailers that have seemingly perpetual sales, they meet the minimum legal obligation by having a certain amount of stock available, somewhere, at the full price.  Before complaining, you should look at their terms and conditions, and check if they're complying.  If you're unable to determine if they are complying, contact them and ask - you never know, they might offer a further discount to secure your custom.

Bottom line is that if you don't like their practices, buy elsewhere.

Do they ever sell at RRP ?
Is RRP of no use in determining an actual price .
Worth a look for voucher codes as i got extra discount using a code from girl guides or something .
  • So after my last post September Emma is still offering at a discounted rate and would you believe its now 56% discount compared to 35%

To add price has increased to them offer a bigger discount

As far as pricing is concerned they are to mattresses what DFS are to sofas.
