The new-style heaters imposed by LOT20 efficiency regulations are designed to reduce total energy consumption and be more "environmentally friendly". They aren't actually intended to be cheaper.matelodave said:It's interesting that the Quantum uses a fair amount of peak rate energy as well to run the fan and possibly the auxiliary heater. The bog standard storage heater, although less precise in temperature control only uses cheaper off-peak leccy so woukd actually work out cheaper to run than either the Fischer or Quantum
Unfortunately the older style ones aren't manufactured any more and the supply of new old ones will have dried up by now.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.1
