When to start packing

I sorted out loft and built in wardrobe early on. Then lost our buyer so everything was pushed back. The box's were deliveredby the removal company six days before we moved and we spent the weekend packing the bulk of the house. Decluttering helped hugely, the only sticking point at the end was moving in a lockdown, our tip only allowing access once a week and having all four kids home on moving day. In Jan. In the rain.
But shoving stuff in box's didn't take as long as I thought it would. But you will always need way more box's than you think.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
I declutter before going on the market ready for viewing.
I always have a minimum of 7-10 days between exchange and completion and never start packing until exchange has gone ahead .
I pack, then get removals in a couple of days before completion and manage with sofa and kettle pretty much, this gives me time to get cleaned up or get cleaners in ..less stressful1 -
Start now. Time soon passes. There'll be items of which you have no need.1

We started packing before we had found a house 😅 we knew we would be moving, and within the next 2 months, so I ordered boxes, reused some I had, and went at it! Started with the kitchen... My the things you find at the back of cupboards! Now we have a frying pan, saucepan, a plate and bowl for each person few cups and glasses and cutlery. Washing up is AMAZING! Even if it’s the dishwasher doing it 😉
The loft was definitely the hardest, we just have the massive wooden play frame and hot tub to take down, and we are near enough done!
(We have since found a house, in Scotland 🏴 so it will be a big move, we have the removal men booked with the date our solicitor suggested - 15th Oct 😬 but we will be getting them to pick it up a few days before and transfer to storage until we are actually there and they can deliver, just in case the dates are off by a day or so)1 -

No harm in getting rid of clutter now, though.0 -
It is also work putting out a FB call, I have seen loads where people either need boxes or have moved and need to get rid of them. Try this first, as you never know. Also, go to the local supermarket and see if you can get some from there?0
