Xbox One steering wheel

Hi, Looking to get our son a steering wheel for racing games on Xbox One.  But a little lost.

Do all racing games work with a steering wheel on Xbox One?

Can you just use accelerator and brake on the pedals and not use the clutch and gear stick?

How do you set it up with a seat?  What seat, stand etc?  Any ideas what is good on a low budget?

OP, Logitech and Thrustmaster are two names that spring to mind for steering wheels.You just need to make sure it says compatible with XBox One. I've only used Playstation, but as far as I know the connectors for PS and Xbox are different. Not all racing games will work with a steering wheel, but most will. You need to look at the back of the game box (should have a steering wheel symbol), or check online. 

The X rocker stuff is decent kit. Personally, I wouldn't be buying the wheel stand just yet or even the seat - note the wheel stand and chair will be compatible as the stand is adjustable to floor level. A lot of money if it won't be used much. Best bet is to get a good wheel first, see how he gets on with it, then maybe invest in the rest for Christmas? I'm still on PS4 but when I do get my wheel out, I have a small table that i attach the wheel to, pedals sit underneath, and I sit on the sofa. Just about right for me, but i don't use it very often.

Stand is fairly generic, you can get them much cheaper than £100.

Seat on the floor for a stand maybe uncomfortable.  A lot will depend on the pedals, can you adjust the

angle of the pedals as well as the angle on the stand for them?

What wheel/pedal are you buying?  G29 / G920 or something cheaper/dearer?

I bought the G29 for my PC even though its sold as a Playstation item, preferred the button layout over the G920

and they all use USB anyway. Switch between PS3/PS4 (PS4 setting also works as PC setting)

You can spend more on a wheel/pedals/rig than a real car costs.

Just thinking of something pretty basic for the steering whel to see if my son uses it and maybe something better a little later

G920 or G29 then.  Both work on the PC even though one has Playstation logo on it. (assume it will work on the xbox also)

I preferred the button layout on the Playstation version rather than the PC version. Switch on the rear says PS4/PC so I expect
they knew PC users may use that wheel also.
