Viagogo reselling tickets

Options
So I had purchased 2 tickets to a gig ages ago. Unfortunately due to circumstances my friend and I cannot go. As it is close to the gig date I listed them on 3 sites. Viagogo, ticketmaster resale and gumtree.
I put them on sale last week by the way.

I finally sold them both the end of last week on ticketmaster resale. I was about to take my ad down on the other sites when I received an email from viagogo informing me that both my tickets had sold on there. I emailed them of my situation.
They are now saying I have to pay £96 to cover the buyers loss of ticket! I had not even confirmed sale.
Has anyone else had a similar experience and if so is there any way this is rectified?
No snarky replies please. I have seen similar threads to this but not my exact situation hence why I have created a new discussion.

  • Their terms say that you can't cancel the sale, or you'll be liable for the cost of replacement tickets, so you're probably stuck with it.
