Avro Energy - jump ship or drown in cold waters?

Indications online suggest Avro is heading for an iceberg.
My fixed term contract ends in Dec.
Should I wait and cling to the sinking ship as it slides beneath the waves or jump overboard now before the energy price cap increases in October?
Either way I suspect I am heading for an icy grave this winter.

Kind of ironic given global warming and a shortage of CO2.
  • I initiated a switch to them end of August, actually first day of contract is today but I was also thinking of cancelling or switching out straight away to Sainsburys/EON today in fact.  Then I saw the cheapish tariffs both were offering also got pulled this morning.  So now I don't really see the point.  Just going to stick with it and see what happens.

What happened to all the advice about switching supplliers to get a better deal?
It was just another con trick.

  • I jumped yesterday
  • Mine ends Feb unless they go. Best fixed rates I can find at the mo are way above what I have now. The variable rates are better for me with other providers.
Suppose I will be playing in the band.

    No idea what will happen.
  • I'm in the middle of switching from igloo to Avro (Avro email last week says it will happen on 1 Oct). I've got a credit balance of £200. My last bill was dated 16 Sept for £50. Credit has built up because they've taken £75 x2 & then £85 by DD since I joined. Also had a £47 bonus credit for switching to them. My concern is both igloo & Avro go bust and my credit falls through the cracks in the system.

I am with them till November. I'm sticking. The last time we had an "energy prices are going up" scare a few years ago nowt happened. We have multi fuel burning stove and open fire if things get desperate.

Yes - In the good old days we could hunt around for a cheap bag of coal or go into the woods and find some logs.
That's not allowed any more. Instead we just freeze.

    I think that's called 'progress'.
