Help needed- Mortgage ends soon

Hi all,

I need some advice, my 2 year fixed ends with Santander on October 2nd and I have an offer from HSBC in place.
However, the lms who are dealing with the application require me to send in photo ID. I do not drive and my passport expired last year.

I sent off for a new passport in July (1st week) and it still isn’t back yet!

With the mortgage ending soon I don’t want to go into the crazy follow on rate which Santander offer.

Any advice on what I can do?

thanks
Marc

Assuming you've already checked that they don't accept alternative ID, wait until you get your passport back and then complete your remortgage. You're only going to be on the follow-on rate for however many days it takes.
  • Thanks for the reply - Is that what Santander would do, calculate days not a full month?

Yes, mortgage calculations are usually by the day.
