I have just switched from Igloo to Avro, because of the massive price increases since I switched to Igloo in July. This may have been a decision made in haste....
Anyway, I have £350 credit balance at Igloo - is this safe? If there are any problems with Igloo, will I get my money back? No doubt this has been asked before but on a quick search I couldn't find anything.
Thanks for any help in calming my worries.

first thought (not related directly to the question being asked granted!) is are you really £350 in credit? July - September = 3 months, that's a very short timescale to get £350 in credit! Was that what was shown on your final bill? If so, then yes it will be refunded around 6 weeks (maybe 6-8) after the issue of the final bill.2

I have similar issues. Over £400 in credit and they are increasing my direct debit as well! I have been online to stop the increase and reclaim part of the credit amount but I can't find the pages/links to do so. I am absolutely positive I have done both of these things on line before. Have they removed them deliberately maybe.0

Yes, any credit balance is safe, even if the supplier collapses and you would eventually get your money backShops2much said:I have just switched from Igloo to Avro, because of the massive price increases since I switched to Igloo in July. This may have been a decision made in haste....

I'm in the middle of switching from igloo to Avro (Avro email last week says it will happen on 1 Oct). I've got a credit balance of £200. My last bill was dated 16 Sept for £50. Credit has built up because they've taken £75 x2 & then £85 by DD since I joined. Also had a £47 bonus credit for switching to them. My concern is both igloo & Avro go bust and my credit falls through the cracks in the system.0

Thanks all - it is a high credit balance, assume because I switched in the summer and they operate direct debits at one amount all year.0

Yes this completely! I'll take screenshots of my account etc to be on the safe side. Maybe I should ask for the credit balance back before the switch takes place? When I switched to Igloo I owed money to previous provider Soenergy, which was settled by DD after the switch had taken place (from Soenergy). I think I'll ask Igloo for the money back and then hopefully it will be settled relatively quickly.....M4rkOne97One said:I'm in the middle of switching from igloo to Avro (Avro email last week says it will happen on 1 Oct).
