Samsung UE50NU7020

Living in Rhyl the correct Freeview transmitter is Winter Hill for which the aerial shows 100% signal.  My Samsung TV has tuned itself to Moel Y Parc meaning that many Freeview channels are so weak that they pixellate regularly.  When retuning, other brands of TV allow you to choose the Region ie England.  Unfortunately, the Samsung defaults automatically to Wales for which I cannot find a manual overide.  I am tempted to do a factory reset but this seems rather extreme and may not work. Anyone else had  ( & solved ) the same problem.  Thanks3

Sounds like you're going have to retune completely (and possibly reset) and select the correct region/location.
  • I didn't set it up,  Electrician put cables in wall so we could wall mount, fitted wall bracket and attached Tv.  When we came home it was a fait accompli.

Then I suggest you do a full factory reset, it really isn't such a big deal.

As neil says, do a factory reset but if necessary put in a post code thats more appropriate for the transmiiter that you want to force it's tuner.

My bro has a similar problem, living on the Wirral his TV tries to tune into Welsh TV rather than something more appropriate.

Just an Update, resetting TV had no effect.  However, after auto-tuning you can go into manually tuning and tune each MUX / frequency for the correct transmitter- in my case Winter Hill.  This overides the existing channel settings eg BBC1 Wales became BBC North West.
