You can switch now without penalty.
From what I've read your options may be quite limited - put your actual annual consumption(in kWhs not £) into the various comparison sites eg Switch with Which or Citizens Advise and see what they come up with.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Also be aware that many firms in a fragile position at present .
